Conversations Between God and Alzheimers| Ta-Da! | | Posted by Darlene on Friday, September 3, 2010 at 9:56pm | It's coming -- it's coming -- it's coming!
Mike, my project manager, says Life Lessons for Caregivers has finally gone to print and should be out in three weeks. Praise the Lord! It's been nearly a year since we started this part of the process.
Cost will be $15.99. Fastest way to get the books will be to order directly through winepresspublishing.com.
I'm available to bring books and talk about the caregiving journey to any groups that are interested. I'm going to be approaching local organizations as soon as I have a book in hand, but I'm willing to travel. My whole purpose is to get God's lessons to me into the hands of other people on the same journey.

| | | | | Waiting | | Posted by Darlene on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at 10:18pm | Waiting and hoping. I've learned a lot about these two positions in the past year. Wine Press estimated Life Lessons for Caregivers would be published this spring. It's now mid-summer and I've just finished checking the proof reader's notes. No changes, so the manuscript really should be going to the printer this time.
Many of you have been waiting and hoping with me. I still have the list of people who want to be notified as soon as the book is available. Like I promised, I WILL let you know as soon as I know.
I just came back from 2 weeks of seminars with Heart to Heart ministries in Georgia and Ukraine. We did a lot of waiting and hoping there too. God is still teaching me that His timing is perfect -- mine, not so much. I know this is also true as far as the book is concerned but, I must admit, waiting is the hardest part.
Thank you for your patience. Maybe that's what it's all about. God bless you all. | | | | | And Still No Book! | | Posted by Darlene on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 3:42pm | I thought sure we'd have a book by now, but not yet. The typesetters requested a couple of small changes last week, so they're in the works. Spring is almost gone, and still no book! My natural self wants to be annoyed, but I know they are polishing to make it as good as possible. So I'm working on being patient. I hope you are too, if you're waiting for a copy.
In two weeks I'll be with an Evangelism Explosion short term mission team in Georgia, and then Ukraine. It is to be hoped that the book will be published by the time I get back, mid-July. Then I can put all my time into whatever it takes to make it available to the caregivers and families of loved ones like I tell about in Life Lessons. I already have a confirmation of a local church women's group who wants to hear my story. It's not too soon to be spreading the word.
I covet your prayers -- for God's perfect timing on publication, my patience, and safety and ministry for the EE trip. God bless you all for your patience. | | | | | Almost There | | Posted by Darlene on Monday, April 12, 2010 at 2:13pm | Mike, my Production Manager, tells me Life Lessons for Caregivers has been typeset and is now going to Quality Control. I'll have one last look at the manuscript and then -- ta-da! -- a real book!
Please pray with me about ways I can let people know about it's availability. I am willing to do just about anything legal and affordable to get the word out there. I really want my story to help and encourage the multitude of caregivers who are right now going through the same journey I traveled.
Watch this page! You'll be the first to know when books are available. Spread the word and pray for God's blessing.
Thanks to all of you encouragers -- Darlene | | | | | Changes and Progress | | Posted by Darlene on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at 4:33pm | Book title has been changed to Life Lessons for Caregivers, making it more indicative of the actual message of the book. We're through with coaching, which went quickly because of my great host of "pre-editor" friends and family. Now we are in editing and proof-reading, so progress really is being made.
Many people keep asking me when it will be out. There are multitudes of hurting people and those who care for them. My prayer is that Life Lessons for Caregivers will bring rays of hope to those so burdened.
Meanwhile, lean on God to help you with the job He has entrusted to you every day. Keep making a difference where He has placed you. | | | |
